A 14 year old Sandpoint youth, Michael Dean McCormick, was injured Tuesday when a shotgun he carried discharged as he crossed a field in the Selle area near geese. He was taken to Kootenai Memorial Hospital with unknown extent of injuries.

Ruyle Nominated for Idaho Teacher of the Year
Marian Ruyle of Sand Point High School has been named a finalist for Idaho Teacher of the Year and will be the state's nominee for the National Teacher of the Year Program. A Sandpoint Civic Club fair runs with nearly 40 booths in the main hall and annex. Organizers expect clubs churches and individuals to offer homemade bakery goods crafts jewelry note papers greeting cards and unique paper items while granges display garden foods and homebaked goods.
