Boise attorney Robert Frost-Comav says he has not contacted the Canyon County prosecutor about the death of June Hofmeister. Frost-Comav, named potential special prosecutor after Robert Yost declined, hopes to discuss the case with Dan Featherston soon and has not indicated whether he will accept the appointment. An outside prosecutor has been sought since Sept. 7.

Four Killed While Hunting in Northern Idaho
United Press International reports four hunting deaths in Northern Idaho as the season opens. Cliff Bonser of Rose Lake was found near the Shoshone County line. Jerome Seidler of Appleton Wisconsin was shot near Superior Montana inside Idaho. Ronald Meredith of Coeur d'Alene was killed by his son near Avery, and Leo Potts of Seattle died when his horse fell on him near Orofino.

Park To Head Power Plant Siting Study
Gov Cecil D Andrus asked Attorney General Tony Park to lead a study on Idaho power plant siting legislation. Park will draft a package by next January and hold public hearings after the November election. The move follows Idaho Power Co plans for a coal fired plant near Boise or Bliss and a need for 20 new facilities by century end.

Skull identified Rita Marcussen missing couple case
The skull of 20 year old Rita Marcussen, who vanished with her husband near Hayden Lake in November last year, was found north of Coeur d Alene. Kootenai County Sheriff Thor FladWed confirmed the discovery near earlier bone fragments and clothing remains. The husband Ron Marcussen, 22, disappeared with her after picking her up from work.

House Approves Kootenai Reservation Bill Near Bonners Ferry
The U S House passed a bill to grant the Kootenai Tribe 12 5 acres near Bonners Ferry Idaho and allow a local church to donate an additional 75 acres The land includes a former day school site and 10 acre tract with 18 homes built in the 1930s of which four remain. the rest are described as deplorable The Kootenai Tribal Council has recently declared war on the United States demanding negotiations over 128 000 acres of land taken under a 1855 treaty.
