Sandpoint City Council adjourned a special session without selecting a mayor. A follow up meeting is set for Monday at 7 30 p m with Columbus Day delaying the next regular session to Tuesday Oct 12 at 8 p m Archie Yager was proposed as an outside candidate while two council members expressed interest in the post and others declined or avoided active pursuit.

Wildlife Service Meets Thursday in Sandpoint

Reward Offered For Spokane Rapist Arrest

Registration Ends Oct 27 in Bonner County Elections
Bonner County residents must register by October 22 with precinct registrars to vote in the November general election. After registrar deadlines, citizens may register at the courthouse in Sandpoint until 8 pm October 27. Police report no arrests in a series of rapes with one to two suspects sought. The only description is a skinny blonde man aged 20 to 30 who used a knife in most attacks.

Disability Program For School District Explained
Del Shanz, director of Special Services for School District 82, outlined the districts learning disabilities program to Priest River Chamber of Commerce members at the Riverview Restaurant. About 250 students, roughly 15 percent of the district, are enrolled, with future plans to include the gifted.
