Mrs. Wesley D. Schierman of Spokane told the North Idaho College Boosters Club she approved mining Hai Phong harbor as a step toward ending the war. She said North Vietnamese releases are for propaganda, noting 12 men freed since 1964. Her husband, Air Force Maj. Wesley D. Schierman, has been a prisoner since 1965.

Virginia Mowry Park Dedicated in Idaho
Gov. Cecil D. Andrus dedicated the future Virginia Mowry State Park on Lake Coeur d'Alene near Worley. The 136 acre site received a total of 298000 in federal and state funds, including 67000 from Mrs. Mowry, with a state share of 197000. The park features one mile of shoreline and lies near Dr. Ralph Berg’s property under consideration for future development.
