Idaho Fish and Game announces waterfowlers hunting ducks and geese from Oct 7 will pay $5 for the migratory bird stamp, up from $3. The stamp, required for 39 years, began at $1 and rose over time to fund wetlands acquisition for waterfowl.
U S Chamber of Commerce president William S. Lowe attended the dedication of the Spokane Chamber’s new Eric A Johnston Briefing Center. Lowe praised Johnstons leadership in Spokane during the late 1930s and as U S Chamber president in the 1940s across four terms.
Frank L. Hruza, representing 25 property owners near Hope Idaho, asks the Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission to enforce the Agricultural Suburban zoning and halt 30 additional condominiums at Wendlemere. Developers say only six units exist with no plan for more. no conditional use permit filed.
The Kaniksu Shores Estates plat received final approval at the Bonner County Planning and Zoning meeting amid accusations of payoffs. Engineer Dick Tucker represented Dr. Smith and Dr. Seimsen as final approval was granted while debate on performance bonds arose. Ray Rainer questioned unequal bond requirements, referencing Pack River Properties and County Commissioner Jim Brockway, and charged payoffs before being told to retract.
Idaho Governor Cecil D. Andrus says he is encouraged by Montana’s executive reorganization success. He notes Montana cut red tape and saved costs after limiting agencies, praising cross state cooperation and urging Idaho voters to back a similar constitutional amendment to curb government growth.
