Californian to Battle Hells Canyon Fight over preservation bill

A California congressman vows to use legislative stalling to kill the Hells Canyon Preservation bill, while a Washington congressman mobilizes telegrams in support. The Senate bill would create a 692000 acre preserve along the Snake River on the Idaho Oregon border and ban dams. Pacific Northwest Power Co and Washington Public Power Supply System oppose it, while Rep Meeds urges support and Governor Evans and Governor McCall back passage.

Hunter Falls Gun Accident Wounds Hunter on Grouse Mountain

A 37 year old man, Robert E. Jacobson, was treated at Bonner General Hospital for an accidental gunshot wound. Sheriff Robert Wilcox said the 30.06 rifle discharged as he fell crossing a rock slide on Grouse Mountain southwest of here. The bullet grazed his stomach and creased his left arm at about 2 15 p m yesterday.

Sunnyside Resort Owner Sues Pacific Power for 125000

Suit filed in district court by PP and L, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fannan, owners of Fannan's Sunnyside Resort, destroyed by fire in 1972. They seek 125000 for the resort and contents plus costs, claiming negligence. Also listed are other civil actions including injuries on the Burlington Northern line and a Rathdrum automobile crash with damages sought.
