Sandpoint Voters Choose Mayor and City Council Seats

About 1,483 Sandpoint residents registered to vote in a mayoral race between Emma Lou Hook and Harold Huff and a council contest for one two-year seat and three four-year terms. Balloting runs 12 noon to 8 pm at City Hall with votes also held in Bonner County towns.

Missing Hunter Safe After Overnight Wilderness Search

A 17 year old Sandpoint youth, Mike Perry, walked out of Jewel Lake area woods this morning after getting separated from his father, David, during a hunt. Bonner County Search and Rescue searched the area overnight. Perry, in good condition, waited until daylight before hiking back to the road.

Shooting Ruled Accidental in Sagle Man’s Death

Bonner County Sheriff says Clarence E Cullison 39 died when a 22 caliber pistol fell from its holster, discharged on the hammer as he was exiting a car at Corner Trailer Park US 95. Witness Wendy Brown and polygraph results support the accident finding. Ambulance reports set Oct 12 time of death.
