Land Committee Seen Key Task for Next Lt Governor

Vernon Ravenscroft Republican candidate says the Land Grant Committee headed by the Lt Governor will decide 37000 acres of state land still uncompleted since statehood. Clothing fragments found in Idaho linked to missing Marcussens

Kootenai County officers near Athol recovered clothing and possible Rita Marcussen gear while probing the November disappearance of Ron and Rita Marcussen from Rathdrum Idaho. A purse tied to Rita was found earlier in a river and the items have been sent to the FBI for testing as the search continues.

Long Bridge Jump Thwarted by Sheriff Deputies

Glen LeRoy Leen 39 of Sandpoint was arrested by Bonner County deputies after attempting to jump from the long bridge. He called bartender Sue Wright at City Club Sandpoint to report the plan before being stopped. Leen posted a $25 bond and was released.

Three Hurt In Sandpoint Intersection Crash

Police report a two vehicle collision at Marion and Erie Streets Sandpoint injuring three people including 18 year old Jack W. Martin 17 year old Tim Denmar and 3 year old John Bonar all from Sandpoint Martin failed to stop at the intersection colliding with Mary M Bonar 41 and her 3 year old son. Jim Bonar six was unhurt.

Ford urges Nixon to withhold more tapes until hearings

Vice President Ford urged President Nixon to refrain from delivering additional tapes until the House Judiciary Committee completes hearings with the current tapes and transcripts. He defended the President's stance and called for the committee to proceed with 19 tapes and 23 transcripts already available.
