Council Moves To Deter Beach Speeding With Barriers
Sandpoint City Council voted to install speed bumps 45 degree parking and a gate in the loop area to curb drag racing and speeding at the city beach. The plan directs traffic to the boat ramp and back, with a final option to close the loop. The city also received a 4800 state grant to add two officers for summer peak months and address patrols.

Miners Barred From Picketing In Idaho Dispute
District Court Judge James Towles issued a temporary injunction against five crafts unions barring mass picketing or threats at Bunker Hill Co operations in Kellogg. No more than five pickets per location and a $25,000 bond are required to cover possible property damage. Bunker Hill accuses union members of disrupting plant operations, while the steel workers union represents most Kellogg production staff. The strike involves wages medical and life insurance and pensions, following failed contract talks. Bunker Hill also seeks $100,000-a-day damages from the steel workers union for alleged no strike clause violations.
