Congressional Golf Tournament gifts spark ethics questions
Rep Burt Talcott led a prize driven golf event for lawmakers with gifts from Abbott Labs to Uniroyal amid lobbyist solicitations. Rep Roger Zion coordinated donations triggering concerns and calls to stop further gifts. The event ended at Andrews Air Force Base after a gala hosted by the I T T Association. Senator Paul Fannin and Rep Wiley Mayne are among donors. A separate note questions ITT’s million dollar offer to the CIA and Nixon era ties persist with Pat Buchanan and Spencer Oliver.
