A spokesman for Sen. Henry M. Jackson discounted exit talk and said he will campaign in upcoming primaries Nebraska Oregon California and New Mexico. An advance party is already in Nebraska. Jackson met with financial advisers after Washington county caucuses where McGovern claimed grassroots strength but Tolleson asserted Jackson won six of seven districts and led to 46 of 52 convention votes.

Pend Oreille Lake Levels Drop After Power Plant Miscommunication
Pend Oreille Lake fell about one foot this weekend due to reduced flows from Washington Water Power. An Army Corps spokesman said WWP did not notify Albany Dam of the forecast change, causing lower discharges than planned 28 000 cfs Saturday 26 000 Sunday and 32 000 today.

Lake Takes Man's Life
A Spokane man, Bobby Casper, 22, died when his car left the highway and plunged into Coeur d Alene Lake about 17 miles east of the Idaho Washington state line. Idaho State Police said Casper was alone in the vehicle.
