Improper signals and suspended licence fines in police court

In Judge Hackworth's police court Ka trina A. Blackwood of Ponderay was fined 10 dollars for improper signals. Marjorie Eggers of Sandpoint paid 10 dollars for driving on a suspended license. A report from Linda La Marche of Sagle notes damage to her parked car near the high school. Mrs Kemp reports antennae broken from her car behind the library. Disqualification in Texas Crawfish Race Sparks Probe

Nan La La, owned by Victor publisher Merel Luker, was disqualified by Texas crawfish commissioners from all future sanctioned races after an investigation at Victor City Hall found the racer doctored with Louisiana Hot Sauce during last Sunday's event where Nan La La won.

Mice Break Likely With New Colorado Rule

Mice in Colorado appeared to gain a regulatory break as the Game, Fish and Parks Commission adopted a rule affecting small game licenses for trapping rodents. Officials say enforcement is unlikely though the rule remains in effect. A separate note reports burglars opening a door at a Cincinnati building, chased away by dogs, and a Dominican Republic fact states Santo Domingo was founded August 4, 1496 as the New World's oldest permanent European settlement.

Ski School Set For Newporters

A three day skiing instruction school for Newport Washington high school students will run April 6 7 and 8 at Schweitzer Basin under Larry Shaw and Al Voltz The plan extends the Inland empire effort after a popular girls program last winter that took place after school and will now include boys and girls during spring vacation sessions including day long schooling

Miss Sandpoint Pageant Remains March 28 at Sandpoint High

The 1970 Miss Sandpoint Pageant is set for Saturday March 28 at 7 30 p m in Sandpoint Senior High School. Presented by the Sandpoint Junior Federated Women's Club with the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce. Rehearsals are scheduled for Thursday and Friday at 8 00 p m in the high school gym.

Grass Fire At Adams Residence Quickly Extinguished

The Sandpoint Fire Department was dispatched Wednesday at 3 45 PM to a grass fire in the Adams residence backyard at 914 Lake Street. One truck fought the blaze and it was brought under control with no property damage reported.
