Washington Merry-Go-Round on 1976 campaign funding
Washington column surveys post 1972 scandals linked to presidential campaign financing. It cites ITT, Penzoil, Vesco, Duncan, and Allen as donors, and discusses tax checkoff as a funding alternative. The piece argues taxpayer funding could reduce influence by private interests and favor both parties. Dairy subsidies are noted as part of the broader financing controversy.
