Local clubs churches and civic groups announce schedules for March meetings and activities. Includes prayer chain signups, forest study reviews, gem club, VFW pinochle, youth athletic association, rummage sales, bake sales, potlucks, dances, and workshops with dates March 20 to 31 at various venues across Pend Oreille Bonner and Clark Fork areas.
Economical chuck roast can be broiled with a marinade of wine vinegar lemon juice garlic and herbs. Sprinkle with Ac cent salt and pepper marinate refrigerate hours then broil 15 minutes per side until done yield six. Also Yankee Chuck Roast braises with tomatoes onions celery and carrots for a one dish meal.
North Idaho Head Start opens pre screening for the next year in Coeur d Alene Post Falls Kellogg Spirit Lake and Sandpoint centers. To be eligible a child must be five by Oct 15 1973 and meet enrollment criteria. Cards available week of March 26 at Sandpoint 218 Main or at any Head Start Center.

Merchants Committee chaired by Jim Tinsman will hold a luncheon meeting Thursday March 22 at 12 noon at the Pastime Cafe. The discussion will focus on spring and summer promotions and Tinsman urges all merchants to attend.
