Jim Tinsman chairman of the Retail Merchants' Committee of the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce announced a committee meeting for Thursday March 16 at noon at the Pastime Cafe. He urged all committee members to attend and said the Courtesy Program would be on the agenda.
Spokane police seek two young women who fleeced a 77 year old shopper of about $8000. The victim met one woman in a northside mall who claimed to have found a sack of money and offered a split if the elder woman contributed funds.
Lake Pend Oreille Club members urge splitting Kamloop Trout and ocean going Steelhead Trout into separate world record categories. Gary Bletsch signs the letter to Field and Stream publisher Michael O Neill, noting Kamloop is landlocked while Steelhead are ocean going with Alaska records cited.
Panida Theatre in Sand Point will open this evening with a children's program due to no school Thursday. This stand in event provides activities for local families.
Four men from Rupert, Idaho went jack rabbit hunting in the desert north of Minidoka when their pickup got stuck about 50 miles from the start. Two walked for help while search crews continued the rescue effort for Ramiy Knopp, Heyburn, Steve Bellem, Bob Wright, Galen Meyer, and Paul left Sun day.
The bill seeks to restore the old Idaho Criminal Code after recent repeals and merges, risking reintroducing outdated laws such as punchboards and slots while outlawing pari mutuel betting on horse races.
