Woolard arraigned on burglary and auto theft charges

Claude E. Woolard, 54, Colburn, was arraigned Friday on two counts of first degree burglary and one count of grand larceny auto. The case stems from a two week old incident at the K-2 Motel in Sandpoint where an auto was stolen and two other vehicles were broken into. George T. Beeton, 28, 711 Florence, Sandpoint, was arrested Sunday in connection with a September grand theft auto from Elmer Dein, 1406 Lake, and later released on own recognizance.

Sandpoint Man Charged In Attempted Armed Robbery

A 19 year old Sandpoint man Timothy A Ragland was arrested after an attempted armed robbery outside North Idaho Warehouse Market. Ragland is jailed in Bonner County on $5,000 bond following a warrant. Separately two Hope Peninsula men, Steven Nordquist and Harold Titus, face grand larceny charges for a Talache cabin break in February with stolen firearms and a knife.

Idaho House kills minimum stream flow bill after lengthy debate

After more than an hour of debate the Idaho House defeated by 41 to 28 a bill requiring minimum stream flow on northern and central Idaho rivers. Opponents warned it threatens existing water rights and agricultural needs in the south, while supporters argued it addresses both northern and southern concerns and would apply to unfiled water rights.
