Idaho adopts prelitigation screening for medical claims
A new Idaho law requires medical malpractice claims to first go to informal prelitigation screening panels before court filing. Panels are voluntary and confidential with no cross-examination, and may suggest settlement terms if unanimous. Hearings will be statewide and conducted under House Bill 489 from 1976.
