Deposition Raises Interest in Teton Dam Case
A deposition by Harold T. Nelson, late regional director of the Bureau of Reclamation, drew attention at a federal hearing on the Teton Dam project. Plaintiffs argue the second phase should influence the first phase EIS, while Judge Fred M. Taylor admitted the deposition as evidence and the suit to block construction proceeds. Dr. John Peters testified that the environmental statement relied on limited data and government studies on water quality, with questions about fish parasites and nutrients not clarified.
