Suspect Returns to Washington in Pend Oreille Shooting
A suspect in the Pend Oreille County deputy shooting was returned Thursday from Phoenix to Washington. He is held in Spokane awaiting transfer to Newport jail. the man faces a first degree assault charge and had waived extradition after FBI-led leads. Deputy Sgt. Dennis Cossette, 31, was shot during a traffic stop near Ione when gunfire erupted from a car.

NLRB Orders Idaho Candy Co to Stop Union Coercion
The National Labor Relations Board ruled Idaho Candy Co in Boise must cease telling workers they will lose wage increases if they unionize and stop promising raises to sway votes. The board upheld an Administrative Law Judge ruling, ordering bargaining with Bakery and Confectionery Workers International Union Local 393 and prohibiting coercive interrogations and bribes.

Two Elderly Tenants Seek Help Over Eviction Tactics
Hazrl Van Duren and Laura Crawford of Caldwell Idaho filed a complaint with the Idaho Attorney General Consumer Protection Division accusing landlord Mike Ferney a Caldwell real estate agent of using questionable eviction tactics. They say three doors were removed and water cut off after verbal eviction notices three months ago. Ferney says the eviction was verbal and legal, and that doors were removed for repair while water was shut off. Mrs. Van Duren sought water service restoration at her own expense but the Caldwell Water Company refused.
