Public Broadcasting Leaders Seek Higher Funds From Congress
CPB and PBS officials urged Congress to replace a 45 million dollar one-year request with a two-year 60 million and 70 million plan. They warned current 35 million funding forces drastic program cuts and costly reassembly of production groups. Rogers and Killian called for long-range funding to shield broadcasting from annual political pressures.

No Verdict In Sabotage Case On Ranger
A five member court martial board in Treasure Island adjourned Monday after two hours without a verdict in the sabotage case of sailor Patrick D. Chenoweth of Puyallup Washington. He faces up to 30 years for allegedly throwing metal objects into the Ranger’s reduction gear at Alameda in July 1972. The damage delayed the ship’s return to Vietnam waters and cost more than 900000.
