Sandpoint man gets four months for drug transfer
Gerald E. Martin 21 of Sandpoint was sentenced to four months in Bonner County Jail after pleading guilty April 18 to transfer of a controlled substance. Judge Dar Cogswell had first imposed two years in the state penitentiary before commuting to jail. The court noted Martin's prior arrests including burglary and traffic violations and that he was cited three times since the current charge was filed. Parole was discussed but probation was deemed unlikely to work. A separate case against Fred Fuller, tied to a December drug raid, will be sentenced July 20 due to an unfinished pre sentence report caused by illness.
