State officials warn of rising damage to bridges at Dover and Oldtown from overheight loads. Repairs may exceed 10 000 dollars per bridge with potential multi‑million costs and long closures if an incident recurs.
Deputy Prosecutor Gary Finney announced the investigation into the death of Gerald R. Brown will focus more on police procedure. Polygraph tests on Officer Paul Siem Asst Chief Bill Selby and Sgt. Guy Gardner showed no lies, though perjury has not been ruled out.

Clark Fork police officer Robert W. Rice reported he was run off Highway 200 by two men in a blue pickup. Rice’s car hit a rock and sustained about 500 dollars in damage. Weekend accidents included a motorcycle crash near Westmond Talache Road injuring two riders, a rear end collision near Sandpoint with injuries, another Sandpoint car damage after being struck by a left turning truck, and a Newport pole collision with minor damage.
