Spokane man seriously injured in track vehicle accident near Laclede
A Spokane area man, Herbert D. Howell, was seriously injured yesterday afternoon when pinned under a track vehicle at the Thama Rock Project near Laclede during heavy construction. He was rushed to Newport Hospital by Murphy Construction Company truck and then transferred to Holy Family Hospital in Spokane for treatment. Ambulances from Bonner County and Newport were dispatched, but Howell had already been taken to hospital by the time they arrived.

Bid Error Redirects Southside School Contract
A ten thousand dollar arithmetic error in the Sceva Construction bid for Southside School prompted the Bonner County School District 82 Board to rescind the two basic bids and accept a combined bid of Vern W Johnson & Sons, Spokane for New Farmin and Southside projects totaling 388,103 with a 120 day completion. The error was explained by Don Wiley of Sceva Construction. The single payment line for New Farmin remains 2,700 and unaffected.
