Youth Injured In Haying Accident Near Selle
A Sandpoint youth, Rocky Watson 16, was injured Monday when a hay trailer rolled onto his chest eight miles east of town off highway 200 in the Selle area. He is listed in satisfactory condition at Kanner General Hospital. Sheriff Wilcox said Watson slipped between the tractor and trailer while loading hay for Laverne Coon. no ambulance was available and he was taken to hospital in the Fire Chief's car.

Sleeping disease kills 11,000 horses in Mexico and Texas
Mexican and U S health officials launched a coordinated battle against Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis after reports that more than 11 000 horses have died across Mexico and Texas.
