Insulation Can Cut Home Heating Costs
Carlson from Washington Water Power explains FHA insulation changes aim to cut heat loss by about one third in a 1200 square foot home. An example shows 210 to heat annually now reduced to 140, with 60 extra for insulation, saving about 70 per year thereafter. Weatherstripping and storm windows can boost savings to 15 percent and up to 65 percent with proper installation.
