Idaho Board kills proposed student fee increase
The Idaho state board of education rescinded a plan to raise student fees at four state institutions after a motion by Joseph McCollum. The proposal would have added 15 dollars per semester at the University of Idaho, 10 dollars at Boise State College, and 5 dollars at Idaho State University and Lewis Clark College. The holdback of three percent of state funds, discussed by Gov. Cecil D. Andrus, left the measure in doubt with a July 15 decision looming. The rescission was approved unanimously.
