Two Trucks Wreck With $6000 in Damages Near Clark Fork
A two truck collision on SH 200 east of Clark Fork caused about 6000 in damage to one truck while the other sustained minor damage. No injuries or citations were reported. Drivers Richard J. Brown and Charles C. Stevens blamed the wreck on missing warning signs as Idaho highway crew cleared ice one mile east of town.

Snow Pack Reaches Record Depth at Schweitzer Basin
Measurements taken Friday January 28 by Tom Wilson of the Soil Conservation Service Dave Rosgen of the Forest Service and Bill Straley a Sandpoint High School instructor show the Schweitzer Basin snowpack above average. At 6100 feet the depth averaged 116 inches with 40 inches of water ranking as the second highest for eight years. The 4500 foot level near the lodge averaged 75 inches depth with 28.8 inches of water. Water content rose 13.3 inches in January at the 6100 foot level.

Snowfall and Water Content Report for Elevation Course
Snow averaged 80 inches with 28.3 inches of water last year and 99 inches with 28.8 inches of water in 1969. An eight year average shows 75 inches of snow and 24.4 inches of water. Water content rose 10 inches during January at this elevation while soils remained wet and snow density was high.
