Monsignor McDonough likened the ruling to King Herod slaughtering infants, while Cardinal O’Boyle urged sermons against the decision. Other faith leaders urged reverence for unborn life and legal protection. A group of Indiana bishops called the ruling an apparent denial of the right to life.
