Finney wins state 4-H veterinary award and national scholarship

Eighteen year old Cindy Finney received a $50 savings bond as the state winner in the 4-H veterinary science program. County Extension Agent Raynold Davis presented the prize for her animal care, veterinary science teaching in 4H, and clinic tours. She also earned a regional win, was sent to Chicago for the national 4H congress, and returned with an $800 national scholarship. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Finney of Bronx Cutoff Sandpoint.

TV Becomes Classroom Emergency Line Aids Schools

Washington reports the National Cable Television Association set up an emergency Cold Line to link school districts with cable systems for televised classrooms as gas shortages close schools. Spokesman Otwell says governors from Maine to Mississippi show interest and Pennsylvania leads in cable reach. A special number 202 457 COLD connects districts with local cable outlets for taped or live lessons.

Nurse Accused in Death of Spokane Woman

A Spokane man files a $51,400 suit in Fourth District Court alleging his 89-year-old mother died after a nurse allegedly turned off her oxygen supply on January 23, 1975. A. V. Cramer claims the nurse was directed to provide oxygen but acted independently to remove it, causing death.
