Fish And Game Seeks Litter Law Enforcement Authority

Idaho's Fish and Game Department seeks authority to enforce litter laws in back country areas linked to wildlife activities. Director Joseph Greenley told the House Resources and Conservation Committee that current enforcement lacks power outside rural ranges. He noted 1973 deer and elk harvests rose from 1971 1972 while hunters increased about five percent due to meat prices.

Sandpoint reports variable clouds with showers through Thursday and gusty southerly winds. Tonight 30, Thursday high 40, with 50 percent tonight and 40 percent Thursday for precipitation. In Washington, a pro abortion-rights demonstration near the Supreme Court drew about 20,000 people, with bells tolling in Spokane churches in memory of unborn babies. Senator Buckley called the ruling the blackest day in American jurisprudence.

Sandpoint Trustee Bopp elected to Bonner County post

School Trustee Jack L. Bopp of Sandpoint was elected by secret ballot Tuesday night to fill Zone 4 Bonner County School Board vacancy following Dr. William Morton resignation. Bopp will stand for election in May along with other trustees. he and his wife Catherine have four children and reside at 706 N. Third in Sandpoint. He previously served on the City Council and owns Bonner Building Supply.
