Ralph D. Kizer of Kaniksu National Forest said the new Federal Building in Sandpoint will not be a true federal building for years. The structure will be privately owned for 30 years with the government leasing under a term purchase plan. Bids exceeded 6 million dollars from Seattle firms, with award expected within days. The three story building will house the US Department of Agriculture among others, and sit on a 280000 square foot site with a 40400 square foot structure.
