Governor seeks disaster declaration after Sunday flood
Gov. Cecil Andrus told Bonner County and Sandpoint officials he has requested a White House disaster declaration and is assured by a congressional delegation it would be granted. He toured flood scenes at Sandpoint Airport with county commissioners and outlined federal aid, including advance payments up to 75 percent for public property damage and reimbursement for removal of debris on private property.

Two Vehicle Mishaps In Bonner County Reported
Idaho State Police logged two separate one vehicle accidents in Bonner County last week. A Ford driven by 32 year old Troy Gene Scarbrough of Ponderay rolled on black ice nine miles north of Sandpoint on U S 95, striking a telephone pole. The second crash on SH 200 in Ponderay involved 98 year old Raymond A Kemip of Kootenai whose vehicle left the highway, hit a power pole, ignited lines and drew the Northside Fire Department to the scene.

FHA Prepares Flood Reports for Idaho Damage
The Farmers Home Administration in Boise reports flood damage in Northern Idaho counties. Idaho FHA director Donald L.
