Murphy Named Successor to Idaho Governor Evans

Sandpoint students rewrite curfew law gain council support
A Sandpoint High School politics class led by Deana Mott rewrote the city curfew ordinance to be enforceable and youth focused. The group reduced the under 18 age to under 17, set 11 30 p m on weekends and holidays, and added exceptions for legitimate destinations. City Attorney Roger Hanlon praised the initiative and the plan, noting the council is likely to accept it.

Cash and checks totaling 647 dollars were stolen Wednesday night from the Korner Klub at Priest Lake. The owner found the money missing the next morning after placing it with a deposit slip and book on a counter. Deputies are investigating the theft.

Fire damages shed roof and walls in Sandpoint blaze
An early morning fire caused extensive damage to the shed owned by Linda Hlrpala at 424 S Marion Sandpoint. Firefighters were dispatched at 3 32 a m to tackle the blaze which reportedly started from an electric heater left on. Sharon Renfro, a renter, occupied the nearby house at the time.
