Dating Game Visitors Enjoy Ski Experience in Sandpoint

The Dating Game couple, new to air travel and skiing, left Sandpoint with plans to return. Hosts Escorts Chris Thompson Judy Gilstad Jackie Cox and Larry Gilstad assisted and instructed. Schweitzer Basin Trainers Motel and Alpine Ski Shop provided skiing, lodging, and gear. Transportation came from Sand Point and State Chambers. The pair praised Idaho hospitality and flew out of Spokane at 12 45 p m.

Big Bowl on Slopes Draws Skiers and a Death in the Family

Superintendent Jack Jones of District 82 announced a special School Board meeting for tomorrow night at 8:00 p.m. in New Farm School. Chairman Dr. Munson convened to hear parents and patrons who urged a discussion on replacing Old Farming School.

Two Boys Nominated for Air Force Academy

U S Representative James McClure of Idaho nominates two Bonner County youths for the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Rocky Arte Stephens of Priest River and William Hugh Callen of Sagle, both 17, will compete with eight others in the first district for the final academy appointment based on exam results. Stephens is Priest River High School student body president active in sports and clubs. Callen is a Sandpoint High senior also active in sports and clubs.

Nordeen Joins Inland Empire Electrical League Board

George H. Gough announced that Wm. T. Nordeen of Northern Lights Sandpoint has been elected to the Inland Empire Electrical League Board of Trustees for 1970. Nordeen holds multiple leadership roles including President of the Northwest Public Power Association and director positions in local groups. The first board meeting will be held in Spokane on January 7.

Gonzaga Begins Second Term Registration Dates

Gonzaga University announces second semester registration led by registrar R. Brian Walsh. Undergraduate and graduate registration runs January 28 and 29 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kennedy Pavilion. Night class registration begins at 6:30 p.m. on January 28 with admission applications required for nonstudents. Classes start February 2.

Sportsmen Will Meet Thursday

The Bonner County Sportsmen hold their first meeting of the year Thursday January 8 at 7 30 p m at the Sandpoint Community Hall. Trophy antler measurements from elk whitetail or mule deer will be taken by Jack McNeel of the Idaho Fish and Game department. Sid Scribner is the new club president with Fred Page as vice president and Jim Kenson as secretary treasurer. Retiring officers were Leo Hadley and Bob Sherwood. Six board members were elected Ted Farmin Leo Hadley Dave Lewis Bill Neu Clarence Reed Ron Young.
