Idaho Library Plan For Blind and Handicapped Readers
Boise UPI Kenneth N. Hopkins director of the Idaho Commission for the Blind outlined plans for a regional library serving the blind and physically handicapped with $25,000 state funds matched by $75,000 federal money to start the program. He asked the legislature for $100,274 from the general fund for 1973, plus about $300,822 in federal funds to total a $501,011 budget.

Police Officer Robs Bar and Ends Life in California
Sgt. Leonard Francis Hayes 38, a Vernon officer with seven years on the force and a prior Air Force career, robbed a bar at gunpoint, took $140, then died from a self-inflicted shot after a police pursuit. He left a widow, two children, and was recently promoted to sergeant.

Priest River brothers face burglary charges and bond cut

Coeur dAlene man granted delay in arraignment on fraud charges
Ronald D. Rankin 42 of Coeur d Alene was given a postponement in his federal arraignment on nine counts of mail and wire fraud.
