Snow Ends Holiday For Crews In Sandpoint Area

Heavy snow blanketed Sandpoint and vicinity delaying District 82 schools and triggering utility outages. Snow depths reached 4 to 10 inches with 0.8 inch moisture in the city, as power and road crews worked to restore service and keep roads passable. Travelers faced hazardous conditions across Spokane and Coeur d Alene as more snow was forecast.

Bonners Ferry Woman Injured In US 95 Head On Pickup Crash

A Bonners Ferry woman sustained leg and head injuries when her northbound pickup struck a semi tractor trailer head on on US 95 near the Kootenai Cutoff Road. The semi, driven by Rodney W. Pittman, crossed into the northbound lane after jackknifing in heavy traffic. Pittman was not injured. Barber was treated and released. Repairs and wreckage removal took about four hours. Pittman was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
