Two Sandpoint juveniles were charged yesterday with attempted armed robbery connected to an Jan 21 incident. They allegedly tried to take a vehicle at gunpoint from L A Crosswhite of 1106 Michigan St after test driving from a used car lot. One juvenile remained in custody after a detention hearing. the other was released to parents. The trio returned to Sandpoint after the confrontation near Long Bridge.

Holt Killed In Mishap On Bottle Bay Road
Apare Bay resident Robert Holt was found dead in his pickup at the bottom of a 100 foot embankment on Bottle Bay Road near the Burlington Northern Railroad bridge across Lake Pend Oreille. Coroner Dale Coffell said Holt died Friday night or Saturday morning from impact after failing to negotiate a sharp curve. A railroad employee spotted the truck around 10 40 Thursday morning. Holt’s mother is en route from Mexico City to Sandpoint.
