Grazing Nets Agency Money From Idaho Lands
Idaho Fish and Game earned 34370 dollars in 1973 from livestock grazing on selected lands. Wildlife land management supervisor Gene de Reus described five land use arrangements including caretaker access, deer and elk shrub plantings, and livestock driven plant manipulation. He noted grazing by horses and mules on irrigated pastures, crop residue cleanup, and grazing as a grain exchange with farmers, with most grazing secured by bidding and many arrangements negotiated directly with willing livestock owners.
