Chrismon Tree Heralds churchs holiday spirit
The United Methodist Church at 711 Main Street displays a hand crafted Chrismon tree created by five Sandpoint women. Audrey Valliers started the project with help from Vivian Eitzman Jewel Benoit Frances Davis and Mabel Kinney. Symbols range from small beaded crosses to large beaded shapes illustrating Christ life and ministry. The project honors Christ and reflects white and gold beads symbolizing purity and divine glory.

Cusick Boy Dies In Fire
Vincent Vogel six year old of Cusick Washington died in a Thursday morning house fire. His parents Mr and Mrs Fred Vogel and brother Vance escaped the flames. Vances condition improved and he is listed as satisfactory at Newport Hospital.

Toy Drive Surpasses Four Thousand With Local Gifts
The 1977 Toys for Toys fund drive in Sandpoint tops 4062.79 dollars as Rogers M and J Food City and the Sandpoint Elks Lodge contribute 173 and 200 respectively. Other donors include Stephen, Karol LaPointe, Wright's Paint and Sundries, Dr. Dale A. Harris, American Framing, an anonymous donor, Women of the Moose, Sandpoint Junior Club, and Mrs. Ralph H. Wicks. The Sandpoint Rotary Club delivered about 30 toys to the fire station. Donations can be mailed to the Sandpoint Lions Club or left at the Daily Bee office.
