Free Christmas Show For Sandpoint Youth At Panida Theatre
The Panida Theatre in Sandpoint hosts a free children’s Christmas show Thursday December 24 starting at 1 00 p.m. and ending about 3 45 p.m. Sponsored by the Sandpoint Elks Club and the Panida Theatre, it is the 26th annual event for youngsters 12 and under. The feature is The Shakiest Gun In The West starring Don Knotts, with several cartoons on the program.

Couple Finds Third Body In River Crash Near Lewiston
The third body of four men killed when their car plunged into the Clearwater River east of Lewiston was recovered over the weekend, three miles east of the Central Ferry bridge in eastern Washington. Gary J. Morrison, 24, of Orofino, was pulled from shallow Snake River water near Pomeroy after being spotted by Mr and Mrs Lusco. Garfield County sheriff's officers completed the recovery.

Mrs. Wayne Hook spokesman for Toys For Tots Sandpoint Lions Club says the center still needs warmth coats jackets and boots for children and teens and seeks sponsors to buy food baskets. The project has packed for 455 youngsters to date with deliveries to Priest River area and aims to serve the rest of the county before closing Tuesday night.

Four Die in Idaho River Crash Near Dworshak Dam
Two bodies were recovered earlier and a third was found in the Snake River near Kenawawa Washington weeks ago. Bobby Nelson 24 of Peck Idaho remains missing after the early morning crash while en route to work at Dworshak Dam. Drive with care.

Five Sandpoint family members injured in head on crash
Five people from the Linscott family were injured when a car driven by Samuel Eastman crossed the center line on State Highway 200 three miles from the Idaho Montana line. Mrs Lanna Linscott Mathew and Mark Sommerfeld and Mrs Linscott s mother were treated at Bonner General Hospital. Eastman and Mrs Linscott remained hospitalized while Mark and Mrs Sommerfeld were released. Icy roads and poor visibility were cited as factors.
