Handgun Ammo Ban Considered by Safety Commission

The Consumer Product Safety Commission will decide within a week whether to appeal a federal court ruling ordering it to consider banning handgun ammunition. Judge Flannery said the agency has authority to ban ammunition under the Hazardous Substances Act despite guns not being in the agency’s defined scope. The Sandpoint Elks Club moves Toys for Tots within 150 of its goal with a 300 dollar donation, raising the total to 3860.12 dollars. Edgewater benefit dinner funds to-go orders and in-house meals run 5 to 9 p.m. with student volunteers assisting, while other local donations boost the drive.

Two Hurt In Auto Rollover Near Bridge

Two Calgary women 20 and 21 were injured when their car overturned one mile south of Sandpoint on U S 95 after hitting a guard rail and rolling down a rocky embankment. A second accident five miles east on SH 200 left Linda Lockman and Presley Vaught uninjured as their vehicle rolled onto its top.
