LEWISTON Idaho The Army Corps of Engineers tentatively sets December 28 for the first blast to begin removing the 45 year old Washington Water Power Co dam on the Clearwater River The blast is a calibration shot not a major demolition and the full removal will occur next year The dam built in 1927 will be removed to restore five to six miles of the Clearwater River and flood the pool behind Lower Granite Dam on the Snake River in Southeastern Washington
