Santa to visit Sandpoint at Community Hall

Santa announces a Sandpoint visit at the Community Hall on Saturday December 4 at 10 am. A Sandpoint Jaycees spokesman says he will arrive by snowmobile if snow exists or by fire engine in clear weather and will distribute goodies to every child in attendance.

Senator Frank Church proposes a bill to turn public schools into year round community centers with modest grants for after hours and weekend use. Fugitive Surrenders To Sheriff's Deputies

Robert Dennis Nank a 25 year old California man in parole violation turned himself in to Bonner County deputies after three days in the Oden area woods with Judith Burns 18. He admitted breaking into two residences stealing blankets and food. Nank waived extradition and awaits transfer to California.

Idaho state workers face a dramatic health insurance rate increase to cover a $200,000 deficit. Sandpoint Jr High Hosts Seasonal Special Classes

The first in a season of special educational activities drew over 150 adults and students at Sandpoint Junior High. Classes tonight covered cheerleading, macrame, drawing, electronics, and woodworking with plans for German guitar and drama, plus boys and girls basketball sessions.
