Japanese Youth Exhange Students Return From Sandpoint Stay
Two 15 year old Japanese youths Kiyoshi I Mizutani from Nagoya and Masaya Hirokawa from Amagasaki completed a three week foreign exchange in Sandpoint under the Labo program. They stayed with local families, visited Seattle and Olympia, and participated in fishing racing and cultural activities. Both noted climate and terrain differences between Idaho and Japan and improved English during their visit.

Black Bear Escapes ZOO Mess Then Returns To Cage
A 400 pound female black bear named Little Red escaped from Ferdinand Zoo and Animal Farm in Nampa Idaho after staff left the wrong door open. Trackers found her five miles away and tranquilized her with a pole mounted dart before guiding her part way back to the zoo.
