Flare Offer Turns Theft as Stranger Tools Vanish

Thefts Reported In Sandpoint Weekend
Three thefts were reported in Sandpoint over the weekend by the City Police Department. Neal Arbogast of Walla Walla said his pickup was hit between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday with several items stolen. A late model motorcycle was taken from 802 Michigan on Saturday night. Fern Travers of Spokane reported the loss of a lantern two flashlights a wig and other items from her vehicle at the Edgewater Lodge Friday night.

Idaho counties submit abstracts from primary election
Three of Ida ho's 44 counties have sent the secretary of state an abstract of votes cast in last Tuesday's primary election. The first three to complete their official canvass and report to the state were Bonner, Boundary and Nez Perce. The deadline for submitting the abstracts is Aug. 21.

Man and son hurt in Montana motorcycle crash and theft
Troy police chief and his three year old son were injured when a pickup struck their motorcycle nine miles west of Thompson Falls. The driver fled, the motorcycle was later found stolen, and the two injured were treated and released from a local hospital. The pursuing witness, Terry Thill, helped police recover the suspect vehicle.

Girl Injured On Motorcycle In Idaho Crash
A six year old Kootenai girl Barbara A. Remsen was injured when her motorcycle struck a vehicle in Ponderay Idaho. Betty A. Rosholt of Kootenai drove off Highway 200 and could not avoid impact. Remsen suffered a compound fracture of the right leg. D'Aleng Coeur d'Alene doctors treated her after the crash.
