Stoicheff to Seek Idaho Superintendent Post

State Senator Jim Stoicheff a three term teacher politician from Sandpoint announced his candidacy for Idaho State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The 46 year old educator at Southside School Cocolalla has taught every grade from first to senior level and Carmen. He cites concerns over centralization and large schools and emphasizes attention to neighborhood and rural schools. He and his wife have taught in multiple states and he has varied work experience including steel mill and radarman duties.

Reward Set For Bomb Culprits In Sandpoint Schools

Stolen Cars Recovered in Sandpoint Weekend Reports

Police report two vehicles stolen and recovered within the weekend in Sandpoint. Norman Linscott’s car was taken from 302 S Third and found across from Dr. Gerald Madsen’s office. Thor Verdal’s car, taken from a downtown business, was recovered north of town at a restaurant. No arrests. Also, a car was pushed from Driftwood Apartments, a yellow 10 speed bicycle was stolen from 504 Euclid, and a chain saw with tools was taken from a pickup. A chimney fire at 333 Euclid caused slight damage.
