McClure seeks funds to restore Idaho salmon spawning grounds
Rep. James A. McClure urged the House Appropriations Committee to provide 2 million dollars in fiscal 1972 for Forest Service watershed rehabilitation on the Salmon River south fork. He said this stream accounts for 20 percent of Idaho's spawning redds and outlined a five year plan costing 6.5 million to stabilize sediments, install gully plugs, reseed, and restore roads to protect the resource of national significance.
