Roger DeLair of Hope was shot in the right hand near Trestle Creek on SH 200. Bonner County youths Guy Mulanex and his brother were arrested. older charged with assault to commit murder and younger with assault with a deadly weapon. Investigation continues. In a separate case Ronald Nordlund was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and malicious killing of a dog.

Grand Jury Recesses in Hofmeister Death Case

Hit and Run Incidents Reported in Sandpoint
Sandpoint police reported a Monday hit-and-run after Gerald V. Downey, 49, was stopped for a pedestrian on Cedar Street when his car was struck by an unknown vehicle. No injuries. Two Charged For Burglary In Sandpoint Meat Market
Sandpoint police charged Bruce Martin and Conrad Rickman for the April 12 burglary of the Price Rite meat market. They allegedly took 93 dollars from the store between 10 and 11 p.m. after entering through the front door. 51 dollars was recovered and seven cases of beer and two hams are missing. An unrelated concession-stand burglary at City Beach was reported, with windows broken and interior vandalized, and two tires and wheels stolen from Lakeshore Motors last fall were recovered. a juvenile is connected to that crime.
