Sandoval and Odin clash in last minute basketball duel

The Battling Blackhawks edged the Odin Eagles 39 38 in Odin on Friday night as Richeson earned late free throws to seal the win. Sandoval then beat Kinmundy 48 42 in a domed follow up as Richeson again led with 19 points. The issue also notes Legion Auxiliary meetings and a Odin Telephone party with local families.

Harold Gramlick Receives Navy Honorable Discharge

Harold Gramlick son of Frank Gramlick of Sandoval returned home after an honorable discharge from the U S Navy He enlisted January 31 1946 trained at Great Lakes and San Diego then served in Jacksonville and was discharged December 1 after twenty two months He visited his sister in Hoopeston Illinois before returning home.

Additional births include a seven pound six ounce son to Larry Schumick and wife, a seven pound eight ounce daughter to Victor Sherart and wife, and a seven pound six ounce son Walter Wilson to John Rauth and wife. The Rauth baby’s father works at the State College in Jonesboro Arkansas. mother and baby are home with her parents.

Free Sacred Christmas Program At Sandoval High

Sandoval Community High School presents a free Sacred Christmas Program in the auditorium tonight at 8 p.m. Director Lester L. Davis says doors close once numbers begin. The program features the Dramatic Club, Band, Girls Chorus and Mixed Chorus with multiple songs and readings across four scenes.

Bridge Crash Strikes South of Sandoval Twice in Week

A 1989 Chrysler crashed into the bridge abutment south of Sandoval on Highway 1 at 3 30 am. The same bridge had seen a fatal crash five days earlier involving two young men and severe injuries to another. Names of the occupants are withheld.

Snow and Ice Monday Hamper Local Motorists

Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures Monday caused widespread car trouble with dented fenders dead batteries and stalled vehicles. Tow trucks worked through Monday night into Tuesday morning as roads remained hazardous and no injuries were reported.
