Goldthwaite Garden Club held a Flower Vegetable and Fruit show with ribbons awarded to winners. Mrs Mable Stoddard Gerald, wife of Judge R J Gerald, has a poem selected for publication in The Greater Texas Anthology of Verse. A second poem will appear in Christmas Song of 1939. The new Sheppard-AHen Hospital opened for inspection on Sunday Nov 19 and was occupied Monday Nov 20 at a cost between twenty five and thirty thousand dollars with modern equipment throughout. Tieman also sold 300 yearling muttons to R N Manley of San Saba for Bill Mason of Sweetwater at six cents.

Smith family gatherings. a Smith reunion with about 60 relatives at Will Parks home. H D Club planning a soup-in at Koons home marking an anniversary. and local visits by Bill Tyler and Floyd Smith with trips to Burnet Pflugerville and Sweetwater respectively.
